Morning Self-Introductions & Orientation
Today was packed with activities from the morning.
In the morning, the students tried introducing themselves in English.
Even those who said “No way, I can’t do that!” soon began speaking with confidence 👏.
Using phrases like
“When is your birthday?” 🎂
“What is your favorite food / color / animal?” 🐶🍕🎨
the students asked each other questions.
Conversations began to flow naturally and the room quickly filled with excitement ✨.
Everyone almost remembered each other’s names by the end!
Building Friendships Through English Games
Next was game time 🎲.
With games like “Popcorn Game” and “1 2 3 4 PASS,” the excitement continued to rise.
The room was filled with nonstop laughter and fun.
Struggling with Digital Detox…
📵Some students weren’t used to being away from smartphones and tablets, saying “I want to touch it…”
But they held back!
Instead, they talked with friends, played card games, and found creative ways to have fun 👍.
Putting Newly Learned English Into Practice
☕In the evening, they headed to Starbucks for an off-campus lesson where they could immediately practice their English.
Each student ordered their favorite drink in English and even handled the payment themselves!
They looked a little nervous, but every one of them succeeded perfectly 🎉.
Welcome Party at House of Lechon
🍽️For dinner, the students enjoyed “lechon,” the famous Filipino roasted pig.
Some had never seen an entire roasted pig before and were amazed by its impact!
Even students who said at breakfast, “I’m not sure I like Filipino food…”
were saying “This is delicious!” with big smiles 😋.
They also surprised a guardian whose birthday was coming up 🎉.
The restaurant staff joined in singing and dancing, making it a memorable night for everyone.
Ending Day 2 with English Journaling
After returning to the hotel, students wrote their English journals ✍️,
doing their best to recall and express everything they experienced today.
Once finished, it was finally time for their long-awaited free smartphone time!
Tomorrow is the island-hopping tour to enjoy the beautiful Cebu sea from the morning!
It will surely be an amazing day.
