August 9, 2025 (Saturday) – Making Pizza in English!

As editing the footage will take some time, we will update and revise this page at a later date.

Including today, there are only four days left of camp life at CES ⏳.
Every day, the children shift between bright smiles and serious expressions as they energetically dive into their English studies from the morning 📚✨.

Today includes English lessons 📚 and, in the evening, authentic pizza-making 🍕 combined with practical English activities 🗣️✨.

🎲 In the group class, students learned English using a board game similar to “Sugoroku.”

Each time the dice were rolled, the room filled with laughter, and the students naturally began using more English in their interactions 😊.

📖 In another class, students practiced reading aloud.

Their careful attention to each word—focusing on pronunciation and intonation—was truly impressive 💪.

In this group, students played Jackstone, a popular game in the Philippines 🎯, helping them develop English skills, concentration 🧠, and hand coordination 🤲 through fun activities ✨.

🗣️ One-on-one lessons
With one-on-one lessons, students can learn at their own pace and get their questions answered immediately. You can see their confidence growing day by day 🌟.

Today’s lunch was Jollibee.

The students enjoyed chicken, pasta, and fries from Jollibee—the most famous fast-food chain in the Philippines—recharging their energy for the afternoon lessons ⚡.

After the afternoon classes, we headed to a restaurant run by an authentic Italian chef🍽️🇮🇹。
There, the students took part in a hands-on pizza-making activity conducted entirely in English 🍕🗣️!

Of course, a little Japanese slipped out here and there 😅, but even so, the students did their best to use the English they knew to communicate with the chef. Their efforts were truly admirable ✨.

Learning in a completely different environment from the classroom allows students to naturally absorb practical vocabulary—such as words related to cooking and ingredients 📚.

Even when they don’t understand every word, they naturally begin to interpret meaning through facial expressions 😊, tone of voice 🎵, gestures 🤲, and context.

Children are naturally skilled at this “guessing ability,” intuitively figuring out things like:
• what is being asked of them,
• and how they should respond,
based on non-verbal cues 💡.

These sensory-rich, real-world interactions form the foundation of true communicative ability—something that cannot be gained from classroom-based learning alone.
This becomes an invaluable asset that will significantly strengthen their ability to use English in the future 🌏✨.

Back at school, it was time for speech practice.

At the Cebu English School Junior Camp, a major challenge awaits: delivering a speech in English at the graduation ceremony 🎤✨.

Today, students practiced their speeches based on the pizza-making activity they experienced during the practical English lesson 🍕🗣️.
Each student confidently presented in English, recalling how they made the pizza and what conversations they had during the lesson 👏.

Their confidence and expressive ability are steadily growing as they prepare for the big day 🌱✨.
